Flying Flags

Fly the flag, let us help.

You might’ve seen the flags flying around your town. Four times a year the Hayfield SAL sets up flags on peoples’ lawns.

See below for more information and how to request a flag.

More information

The SAL fundraises by charging $25 a year to put a flag up on your lawn/property.

Holidays we put the flag up for:

  • Memorial Day (last Monday in May)
  • Flag Day (June 14)
  • Fourth of July
  • Labor Day (first Monday in September)

Flags are usually put up for a few days surrounding the holiday.

Towns (and nearby areas) we cover:

  • Brownsdale
  • Hayfield
  • Oslo
  • Sargeant
  • Waltham

Unfortunately, to avoid being spread too thin, we do not put up flags in:

  • Byron
  • Dodge Center
  • Kasson
  • Rochester
  • Stewartville

How to pay for your flag

You can use Venmo to wire us money if you have an account. Use our handle @ HayfieldSAL

You can also drop a check off to an SAL member or to the Legion.

If you want to mail a check, please mail to either:

If you have cash, please make sure to attach a note (or put in an envelope) with your name and phone number and give to an SAL member.
